The Customer
Savills, acting on behalf of their commercial tenant ICTS at Stockley Park, Uxbridge.
The Challenge
Savills wanted to introduce EV charging facilities for their tenant, ICTS, while ensuring the solution was cost-effective, scalable, and aligned with both landlord and tenant requirements.
Key considerations included:
- Understanding the site’s existing power supply and infrastructure
- Determining responsibility for electricity costs
- Matching charger capability to current and future EV usage
- Delivering a solution that avoided unnecessary capital expenditure
The installation also presented practical challenges, including sensitive ground conditions due to nearby tree roots.
The Solution
Hydra worked closely with both Savills and ICTS to design a tailored solution:
- Conducted consultations to assess power availability, billing structure, and operational requirements
- Engaged directly with ICTS to understand vehicle types, usage patterns, and future demand
- Introduced MB Electrical EV, a Hydra Approved Installer, to carry out a detailed site survey and recommend the most efficient installation approach
Based on these insights, Hydra recommended dual 22kW AC chargers supported by an intelligent dynamic load balancing system. This approach delivered high performance for a wide range of EVs without the added cost of DC rapid chargers.
Additional considerations included:
- Careful hand-dug trenching to protect tree roots and avoid disruption
- RFID key fob access for simple and secure staff usage
- A private-use setup, removing the need for public payment systems and reducing costs

The Outcome
The final installation provided a reliable and efficient workplace charging solution:
- 2 x Hydra Kratos 22kW AC Dual Floor Standing Chargers
- Integrated dynamic load balancing (DLB) for optimal power distribution
MB Electrical EV managed the full installation, including infrastructure design and specialist groundwork, ensuring a smooth delivery despite site constraints.
Hydra supported the project through to completion by:
- Providing platform training to enable ICTS to monitor and manage charger usage
- Assisting with system setup and operational guidance
The Result
The project successfully delivered a cost-effective, future-ready EV charging solution tailored to a private commercial environment. By focusing on smart AC charging and load management, Savills and ICTS achieved excellent performance without unnecessary infrastructure investment.
Close collaboration between Hydra, Savills, ICTS, and MB Electrical EV ensured the project was delivered efficiently, with minimal disruption and long-term scalability.
